The regular trading hour was coming to a close, and the 1min Renko of the SPY, which is set to give a new brick every 5 cents, rattled off a two dozen bricks in a row in the blink of an eye...price was varying by one cent only...but the chart plotted as if it were varying by 10 cents.

Hopefully this is fixed in current builds

I still seem to come across this problem. The bid/ask will get to a certain price, and a new brick is generated every time it prints one side or the other. I find it happening more frequently on lower priced stocks. It has a fit, and you have to keep refreshing the chart until price moves.

Also, occasionally I just can't get any Renko chart to appear for certain symbols on certain timeframes. The indicators all appear normally as if there were candles there, but the candles themselves are invisible...

Yes if you get to too short a time span it will flip between the bid and ask.   On shorter timespans, use the Data Type pull down in the title and change it from HLC to close or typical price, this will fix the bid ask flipping.
